Brighton & Solitude Babysitting (Big Cottonwood Canyon)

Brighton and Solitude Babysitting in Big Cottonwood Canyon

Big Cottonwood Canyon holds two of Utah’s most relaxed ski areas. Brighton is a longtime local favorite with terrain parks and night skiing, while Solitude has a quiet pedestrian village and wide-open bowls. Both are a short drive from Salt Lake City, which makes them easy day trips. Mother Goose Child Care sends sitters to your cabin, condo, hotel or valley rental so the kids can have their own fun day while you ski.

All of our sitters go through an interview, reference checks, drug testing and a BeenVerified background check, and every one is trained in CPR and first aid. For more than 15 years we have helped traveling families find dependable care across the Wasatch.

Making the most of Big Cottonwood with kids

  • Brighton’s night skiing makes an evening sitter especially useful. Book a 4-hour evening block and get some turns in under the lights.
  • If you are staying in Solitude Village, your sitter can come to your condo so little ones nap on their own schedule.
  • Big Cottonwood has one road, and winter storms can slow it down or close it for avalanche work. Check canyon road and traction updates before your booking.
  • If a storm keeps your sitter from getting through, we will do our best to replace them, but safety always comes first.

How it works

  • Open our booking app and request the days and hours you need.
  • Tell us your lodging, whether that is up the canyon or in Cottonwood Heights, Holladay or downtown.
  • Mention any special needs, routines or allergies so we can choose the right match.
  • Meet your sitter, hand off the kids and head up the canyon.

Rent the bulky stuff

From a portable high chair to a double jogging stroller, we can have the gear your family needs dropped off at your hotel or vacation rental and set up before you arrive. We pick everything up after departure.

“Scheduling and service was fantastic. Glenda was great and our little ones loved her. Next time we’re in SLC we’ll definitely be doing this again.” David M., Google review
